Aircraft Twirls Wildly into Palm Groves at Frequented California Beach
A chopper hovering near a well-attended California beach abruptly started spinning wildly, finally losing altitude and plunging into a cluster of palm fronds as onlookers looked on.
Videos posted on social media capture the chopper commencing to spiral above the shoreline then falling towards the perimeter of the beach, where it gets stuck between palm groves and a set of stairs near the shoreline route.
First Aid Update
Emergency responders reported five individuals were transported to a medical facility including two individuals who were in the helicopter and were “rescued from the debris” subsequent to the crash on that day.
Three individuals on the road were hurt. Details on their condition were still under review.
The cause of the crash was not yet disclosed.
