Attorney General Discloses Inquiry into Trump Adversaries and Epstein Links

This past Friday, the Attorney General designated interim US attorney Jay Clayton to head an inquiry into opponents of the President and their relationships with Jeffrey Epstein. This action came hours after the president instructed her to launch the probe.

In a statement, Bondi highlighted Clayton as “one of the most capable and trusted prosecutors in the country”. She stated, “The department will handle this matter promptly and thoroughly to provide clarity for citizens.”

This development appears to contradict a recent memorandum from justice department officials which indicated that documents related to Epstein did not warrant additional investigations. As per the document, authorities “did not uncover evidence that could predicate an investigation against uncharged third parties”

The President Demands Scrutiny of Democrats in the Epstein Matter

The announcement coincides with increasing pressure from the president on congressional Republicans to resist the full release of files concerning Epstein before an upcoming House vote next week. Several lawmakers are expected to back the disclosure.

Recently released emails from Jeffrey Epstein have highlighted the president’s past involvement with the convicted criminal, revealing information that he knew more about Epstein’s conduct than he has previously let on.

That same day, the President announced he would direct the DOJ to investigate connections between Epstein and Democratic figures, including Bill Clinton, Larry Summers and Reid Hoffman. Paradoxically, Trump also described the “Epstein situation” as a “deception”.

Other Developments from Friday
