Exploring a Unique Steam Game Trial: Controlling a Piece of Feces in a Mission to Find the Toilet

Steam Next Fest is now live, and gamers have discovered plenty of entertaining creations from small studios. However, one stands out for its offbeat concept. Titled Unko Technica, this classic-feel jumping adventure features a hero that is actually a dung striving to navigate to a commode. For those curious, "Unko" is Japanese for "poop."

The gameplay is easy to grasp: just use a one button to leap. Across 150 challenges, battle tough enemies and visit a market to buy customizations for your fecal avatar.

Plan your jumps with caution, since one mistake forces beginning again. Bounce off bubbles to hurl the poop to new heights, cross crumbling ledges, and activate switches to unlock hidden paths. Gather UN-KOINS for buying more difficult stages as things ramps up.

In terms of design, the experience shows off eye-catching stages and an amazing soundtrack. The simple art with morphing abstract forms may remind players of classic titles like Earthbound.

Even though tough to recall previous releases where you play as a piece of feces, interactive entertainment often incorporated scatological themes. As an illustration, in Death Stranding, players create explosives from character waste. Examples include Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved use manure as fertilizer. Naturally, this theme is present extensively in Obsidian's South Park RPG The Stick of Truth.

Putting aside its humorous concept, Unko Technica has already received significant awards, such as winning at a major publisher's game competition in 2023. This trial version is ready at present on Steam, with the complete version scheduled to debut on PC in the fall.
