Youthful Killer Receives Life Sentence with Lowest 16-Year Period
An 15-year-old adolescent has been judged to life behind bars with a minimum term of 16 years for the homicide of fellow schoolmate the deceased during a lunch break.

Mohammed Umar Khan stabbed Harvey, who was also fifteen, in the cardiac area with a weapon at the city's learning facility in February.

Caroline Willgoose said she felt "as if a large burden has been taken off my person" following the verdict.

Mrs Willgoose mentioned she was glad the minimum term had been determined exceeding the statutory minimum of 15 years.
"My parent has been having cancer treatment through the court proceedings and he just couldn't hold on any more," she expressed.

Prior to the murder on the third of February, the perpetrator and the deceased had adopted different viewpoints in a different dispute between two other schoolmates.
Surveillance video from the day of the knife attack displayed the killer coming near the victim in the outdoor area soon after midday.

Throughout the legal proceedings, the accused claimed he had not intended to murder the deceased or cause him significant damage, claiming he could not recall what had transpired.
The state countered that he had "intended to prove he was tough" and "understood exactly what he was performing".
"You acted as the provoker and... you proceeded in pain and rage at what you regarded to be his betrayal of your relationship," stated the court official during the judgment.
Fallout
The school released a message conveying that the student was "deeply mourned every day by the entire learning environment".
Investigators emphasized the devastating outcomes of possessing knives, observing that a "split-second action" can forever transform multiple existences.
